THE grandddaughter of a woman who was adopted by an Oudtshoorn couple in 1943, are looking for information on her grandmother’s bio-logical parents.
“I’m desperately searching for information about the biological mother of my grandmother. I’ve tried everything and feel that this is my last hope,”says Kirsty Jones.
Kirst, who is living in England, says her grandmother was adopted by a married couple who lived in Oudtshoorn.
“All I know about her biological mother is that her name was Kitty.
“I have a photograph of her and the man she went on to marry.
“I think his name was Petrus – it is written on the back of the photograph.”
Her grandmother’s name (after adoption) was Irene Johanna Catherina Steyn and her birth date was 28 June 1943.
She was adopted by Frederick Stephanus Steyn and Catherina Johanna Bezuidenhout. They were married on 12 December 1941 in Oudtshoorn.
