An aspiring athletics star from Oudtshoorn, Mzwandile Du Toit (17) - a learner from Fezekile Secondary School who resides in Rosevalley - needs some assistance. He is a young boy that has dedicated his time to athletics and comes from a challenging background. He currently stays with his mother who is now unemployed. Mzwandile has participated in a number of competitions namely the SWD Junior Marathon road competition 2022, the 10 km SWD Junior and Senior Marathon 2023 and the Oudtshoorn High School athletics day 2023. He achieved the first position in all these races and received an award in 2022 for the best Junior and Senior SWD marathon athlete. The school kindly requests financial assistance for him to be able to partake in the Western Cape High School Championship in Paarl on 17 March this year as well as the Athletics South Africa’s nationals in Pietermaritzberg on 22 March. According to the school the community’s contributions will be highly appreciated.
