READ Exodus 17:8-14. Prophetically the Bible speaks about Israel as the Church of God, but also as the Son of God.

In this story there is a whole nation (Israel) going to battle as a nation but also individually. It took a couple of individuals to form warriors and to form the nation.

When Moses’s hands got weary the people fighting the battle were being defeated. When Moses’s hands were strong and lifted up, the people fighting the battle were overcoming the enemy.

At the end of this story, it says that Joshua won the battle, not Moses and not the warriors. Everyone in this story was equally important, but they had different roles. On this journey it was important for every Israelite to relate to God personally but also corporately.

Read 2 Chronicles 5:11-14. Divisions in this scripture is an orderly arrangement, a position, not division as if it is divided. The people came to the Most Holy Place without keeping to their divisions. Everyone laid aside where they were serving the Lord, so they came as one to the temple.

They were 120 who came as one, praising the Lord with one sound. The glory of the LORD filled the house, and the priests could not stand because of the presence of God that overwhelmed everyone. They left their divisions and came for one purpose and one vision, which was the temple (the place of the presence and dwelling of God). Jesus says seek first the Kingdom, seek first His presence and His will. If you can seek it together, something incredible can happen.

If you seek the Kingdom corporately, there is a sound, and for there to be one sound you need to have the same mindset and vision of the heart of the Father, to build His kingdom.

Read 1 Corinthians 12:12-14. Many times people are only concerned about their own relationship with God, but when you seek the Lord, you also find His body.

You cannot separate God from His body. The body is not one because of your effort, it is one because of the Spirit. You are part of His body. The body contains many members and without one member it is not complete.

You have an important role in the body, for the body to succeed. By one Spirit we were all baptized into one body. The Bible never says that you have to create unity, it says you have to keep the unity. When keeping the unity, you have the responsibility towards others so that we can protect and guard the anointing that God has given us.

Read Ephesians 4:1-7. Your job is to keep the peace as far as you can. The body of Christ needs to celebrate each other’s grace. You have to acknowledge the role and the order that God has established in your life so that you do not compete or measure yourself with others but celebrate and accept others and be content with the calling that is on your life. If everyone stays within their calling that God has given them, with one mind, one vision and one purpose which is the kingdom of God, imagine what could happen.

Read Ephesians 4:13-16. If one member in the body doesn’t grow into maturity, the whole body suffers. The place where you are at, influences where the body is. Jesus said that if you want to be great, be a servant of all.

The people God has placed around you, have a function in your life, because we are joints of each other. The body needs to mature so that it can function on the earth in the stature of Christ, but to do that every joint, every member, supplies to every other member so that it can be build up. You need to supply what you have, to the people around you. You cannot give what you do not have.

You can stir up love and good works in someone. Stir up the people to serve the Lord.
Coming together is very important for the growth of the body of Christ. It is a place of equipping, supplying, edifying, and manifesting an expressing of God’s unity within our hearts. (Hebrews 10:24-25) With one mind and one mouth, one sound, glorify God. We will be drawn to each other because it is the same Spirit. (Romans 15:4-6). (Deur Andre Nel van Kingdom Culture)
