Rural Flying Squad confiscates drugs worth R15 000 on N12 near Oudtshoorn

The strategic deployment of police at entry and exit routes to the Western Cape to eradicate the trafficking of illicit firearms, drugs and goods once gain yielded positive results with the confiscation of drugs with an estimated street value of R15 000 just outside Oudtshoorn.

On Saturday (16 July) at about 20:00 Rural Flying Squad members conducted a static vehicle check point (VCP) on the N12 near Oudtshoorn when 50 mandrax tablets and 37,22 gram of tik were found stashed under the driver’s seat of a car they stopped.

They confiscated the drugs and arrested both occupants, 28 years old. They are in custody and will appear in court once charged.

Both are facing a charge of possession of drugs.
