THE Oudtshoorn Municipality welcomed Justin Lesch as the new director of technical services on Tuesday 1 July 2021; a position that was vacant for a year.
Lesch brings with him a wealth of experience and skills in the fields of management, strategy, policy and negotiations.
He acquired these skills during his years as a technical manager with the Prince Albert Municipality and senior manager at the Hessequa Municipality’s department for electrical and mechanical services.
Lesch has experience in both the local government field and various private sector organisations in the Western Cape.
“I believe that infrastructure maintenance and long-term planning will go a long way to boost the Oudtshoorn Municipality’s potential as well as maintain its position as a sustainable service provider of choice and to serve the people,” said Lesch.
“Based on our interactions since his appointment I am impressed with his assessment, his departmental activities and his vision for the department,” the mayor, Chris Macpherson said. “He had to hit the ground running and has already shown he is capable of handling difficult situations.”
“We look forward to welcome the rest of his family and wish them the best in becoming ‘Proudly Oudtshoorn citizens,” Macpherson said.
