New adventure for Avontuur at Oudtshoorn Municipality!

THE Greater Oudtshoorn Municipality appointed Clyde Avontuur as Manager: Contract and Legal Services with effect from 1 February 2022. Avontuur who was born and raised in Oudtshoorn, is a senior attorney and a conveyancer with a masters degree (LLM) in law.

“He brings his extensive knowledge in the legal field with him,” said Aurelia Mle, spokesperson for the municipality.
The municipality’s former legal official, Pumzo Tofile, died after he contracted Covid-19 in the winter of 2020.

Avontuur said that it will be a privilege to serve the community of Oudtshoorn. “I look forward to contributing towards the success of the municipality’s administration.”

Some of his many duties will be to give legal advice and support to the council, speaker, mayor, municipal manager, managers, and on all matters which may have a legal implication to ensure that council’s interest is at all times adequately protected.

“We would like to give you a warm welcome,” mayor Chad Louw said. “I know with your experience and dedication you will be of great value to the municipality.”
