PLAYING golf in the middle of Calitzdorp? This is absolutely possible! On Saturday 15 October the Calitzdorp Museum Association will host a What’s New? outing to the Golf Studio opposite the Calitzdorp Museum.
With his partner, Sunny Baek, Ed Holding moved from Gauteng to Ca-litzdorp in 2021 and opened the Ed Holding Golf Studio in a building in Geyser Street. Ed is a master professional golfing coach and has spent his entire working life in the golf business. He is a fellow of the Professional Golfing Associations of both Great Britain and the United States.
Geyser Street might seem an unlikely place to expect to hone up on the finer points of improving your golf swing, but thanks to the marvels of an amazing radar tracking system called Flightscope (developed in South Africa) and a wall-sized screen showing the golf course in front of you, golfers are able to see exactly what happens to the ball when they tee-off … and with Ed’s help correct their swing immediately.
After that Sunny Baek will give a short talk about the new pop-up restaurant she is creating, Authentic Korean Cuisine, and share some of the intricacies and delicacies of Korean cooking
The third stop will be at TTT Cellars. Graham and Cheryll Anley have a vineyard of 1 000 vines and are currently producing 18 artisanal, hand-crafted, boutique wines in the cellars on the property.
They also make a number of other bottled products from a small orchard of olive trees.
