Drugs confiscated on N12 between Oudtshoorn and George

THE Rural Flying Squad and members of the Eden Cluster Crime Combatting Team confiscated drugs with an estimated street value of more than R38 000 during the weekend.

In one instance 200 Mandrax tablets and 75 gram of Tik were found in the possession of an 18 year old man at a vehicle check point between George and Oudtshoorn.

According to Sgt Christopher Spies, spokes­person for the Southern Cape Police, the drugs were found on Saturday.

Members of the flying squad conducted a ve-hicle check point along the N12 between George and Oudtshoorn and searched a vehicle.

The 18 year old was arrested on the scene on a charge of dealing in drugs.

He appeared in the Oudtshoorn Magistrates Court on Monday.
