The Water Crisis and the need for a Recycling Plant

The public is now aware of the water crisis that awaits us in Oudtshoorn, this thanks to Die Hoorn. Let’s not fool ourselves.

Should it not rain, what will be done to supply the public with potable water?

Will we follow Beaufort West and rely upon bottled water donated by well-wishers plus water tankers that will be placed, on a daily basis, at suitable points and the population will line up with their containers?

A bit late now, but I still hope that our town councillors will make a start on a recycling plant.

All that potable water, contaminated with human waste, can be cleaned and recycled. Costs? Lower than the price of human suffering!

We need to face the facts that have become as clear as clean water! Climate change is here to stay. Welcome to the new normal.

The summer temperatures and drought in Europe and the USA tell the story. Rain is in short supply worldwide. We see

California in the USA in the grip of horrific fires. I had an e-mail from Holland. Main theme; a terrible drought and a dead garden due to water restrictions. Family in London report water restrictions and extreme temperatures daily.

Can our councillors tell the public what they plan to do regarding drinkable water should it not rain in the next six months.

Is there a plan or are they relying on the past events forgetting the new normal?

The past is now a foreign country, never to be visited again.

Please let us know what the plan is asap!
