Daniel Nel of Boplaas with their National Wine Challenge list of Top 100 SA wines achievements for 2019
BOPLAAS Family Vineyards from Calitzdorp has emerged as one of the most successful producers rated for the National Wine Challenge list of Top 100 SA Wines this year. Not only were six of its wines included, but it also claimed titles for amongst others Best in Class.
The top performer was the Cape Tawny Port, which received double platinum and the title of Grand Cru National Champion Best in Class. The Cape Vintage Reserve Port 2017 received joint first place, also winning double platinum.
The Boplaas Gamka Red Reserve 2017 and Cape Vintage Reserve Port 2009 received double gold while double silver was awarded to the Boplaas Touriga Nacional Reserve 2016 and the Boplaas Ring of Rocks Family Reserve 2016.
“We are immensely pleased these wines have received the recognition they deserve,” says winemaker Margaux Nel.
