MOTORISTS are reminded to plan trips to the Klein Karoo and the Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees (KKNK) keeping in mind the following Department of Transport and Public Works road projects:
• George to Oudtshoorn: The first 18 km from the N9 turnoff on the Oudtshoorn side is currently under construction. While this section will be open to two-way traffic along its entire length, there will be road hazards and additional speed limits.
Calitzdorp to Oudtshoorn: The last 24 km of the R62 on the Oudtshoorn side is currently under construction. While this section will be open to two-way traffic along its entire length, there will be road hazards and additional speed limits.
De Rust to Oudtshoorn: The entire length of this section of the N12 is under construction and three stop/go control sections will be in operation during the KKNK. In addition, there will be road hazards and additional speed limits.
Cango Caves to Oudtshoorn: There are no construction activities on this section of the R328.
• The TR75/1 (N12) between Oudtshoorn and George, and TR1/2 (the N9) between George and Uniondale, will be open to two-way traffic from 21 March to 31 March 2019. Certain sections of these roads will have delineators on the shoulders to protect some of the works. A traffic safety officer will be on patrol.
