Splashes made at brand new swimming school in Oudtshoorn

During the past week the FCA Aquatics Club received permission from Mr Van Staden, Director of Community Services of the Oudtshoorn Municipality to utilise the Church Street pool facility for a swim safety and skills introduction program.

On Saturday, 3 February from 8:00 to 16:00, members of the public are invited to the pool to register for Club membership. The yearly fee for 2024 is R150.

Every new member will also receive a free floating lesson.There are group lessons of 45 minutes for R25. Classes for school going children will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 14:00 – 17:00.

“The FCA Aquatics Club is focussing on safety first, then skills development and teams”, said Susan Juta, chairperson of the club.

The club has a goal of 1 000 floating swimmers by the end of February.
