At Spurwing Horse Feeds, the commitment to superior equine nutrition is deeply rooted in the Benson family’s legacy, which spans over 50 years. Situated in the picturesque Karkloof Valley, the Benson family’s long history with horses – encompassing breeding, training, and competing with racehorses, polo ponies, and warmbloods – led to the founding of Spurwing Horse Feeds in 1993.
This move was inspired by the consistent acclaim for the exceptional condition and quality of their home-fed horses.
Understanding the crucial link between a horse’s health and the quality of its feed, Spurwing Horse Feeds is dedicated to offering top-notch products.
Their feed range includes high-fibre, grain-free, and grain-inclusive options designed to meet the diverse needs of horses at various stages of life and levels of activity.
What distinguishes Spurwing is their commitment to personalised care. Beyond providing feed, they engage with customers through yard visits, detailed progress reports, and tailored feeding advice, ensuring each horse receives the specific nutrition it needs. Quality is central to Spurwing’s operations.
The company produces feed in a dedicated mill that focuses solely on horse feeds, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality. By sourcing the finest ingredients, Spurwing ensures that their feeds optimise the health and performance of horses. The results are evident in the improved condition and overall performance of horses on Spurwing feeds.
The recent opening of the Distribution Depot in Cape Town represents a significant milestone for Spurwing Horse Feeds. This expansion allows the company to share its core values and dedication to superior equine nutrition with a broader audience in the Western Cape.
It provides an opportunity to extend their ethos of personalised care and high-quality products to more horse owners and trainers.
As Spurwing Horse Feeds continues to evolve and innovate within the equine nutrition landscape, their mission remains steadfast: to enhance the health, performance, and happiness of horses across all disciplines.
Through a combination of nutritional expertise, premium ingredients, and a genuine passion for equine welfare, Spurwing Horse Feeds stands out as a beacon of excellence in the industry.
The brand is synonymous with trust and quality, reflecting its commitment to delivering exceptional care and products for the equestrian community.
