The Deputy Minister of Police, Cassel Mathale, welcomed 445 newly trained constables to the South African Police Service (SAPS) during a parade held on Friday 21 November in Oudtshoorn.
The ceremony, which took place at the De Jager Sport Complex and was hosted by the SAPS Academy Oudtshoorn, forms part of the national effort to strengthen frontline policing. In total, SAPS welcomed 3 558 new constables across the country as part of its broader drive to enhance crime-fighting capacity at grassroots level. (MALISSA SPIES)
