Stef

Ek wil graag namens die Golfgemeenskap van Oudtshoorn vir die eienaars en organiseerders van die Spar golfdag op Saterdag 9 September van harte bedank – daar was nog nie so ’n geleentheid by ons Golfklub nie. Baie dankie. Skillie en Heinrich. Melcus Nel

• Youth Café makes no difference in the lives of youth. Many programmes are presented to make a change in the youth of Oudtshoorn. The OYC is in possession of letters from some high schools within the Oudtshoorn jurisdiction, complementing them for the changes made with the Life Skills Programme in schools.
• Loitering in the OYC. This statement is not true. Youth who visit the OYC receive training and make use of the facilities put to their disposal. At no point free wandering or loitering are tolerated. Mobile Youth Cafés are access points for similar services and facilities to those residing in rural and informal areas. Students from the South Cape College normally visit the OYC to study or do assignments/tasks.
• Preparation of food: The OYC buy food for students for lunch and only provides coffee for the students. They also buy muffins from the local Spar. No sales, only chips and muffins for external persons who visit the youth café.
• The kitchen, microwave and urn is used by staff only.
• Emergency exit: There are two exits and the centre has applied for fire extinguishers.
