Qualifications Boost Professional Development at SWD Cricket

South Western Districts (SWD) Cricket continues to invest in the growth and development of its staff, with two employees recently achieving important professional qualifications through the organisation’s career development programme.

Emile Titus, a groundsman at the REC Cricket Stadium, and Angus Roelfse, the SWD KFC Mini Cricket Coordinator, successfully completed a Certificate of Competence as Health and Safety Representatives. The qualification equips them with the knowledge and skills required to promote and maintain safe working environments, identify potential ha-zards, and contribute to workplace health and safety initiatives.

In addition to the health and safety qualification, Roelfse further enhanced his professional credentials by successfully completing the Designated Safeguarding Officer Course presented by The Guardian.

The course focuses on safeguarding principles, child protection, and creating safe environments for participants involved in sport and community activities.The achievements form part of SWD Cricket’s ongoing commitment to staff development and organisational excellence.

By encouraging employees to pursue further training and qualifications, the organisation aims to strengthen its operational capacity while ensuring high standards across all areas of its activities.

The official hand-over of certificates was attended by SWD Cricket Chief Executive Officer Albertus Kennedy and Cricket Services Ma-nager Gary Moos, who congratulated the recipients on their accomplishments.

Both officials praised the employees for their dedication to personal growth and their commitment to enhancing the quality of services provided by the organisation.
