The Battle of the Karoo returns to Oudtshoorn this Saturday 7 March, promising a thrilling showcase of martial arts skill and discipline.
Hosted at the De Jager Sports Complex, the tournament is organised by Grebe’s Kickboxing Club under the guidance of Shihan Ranger Grebe, and has quickly become one of the region’s most anticipated sporting events.
“Grebe’s Kickboxing Club would like to invite you to another epic Battle of the Karoo 2026. This year we bring back ‘Rise of the Champion’ tatami fight night,” says Shihan Ranger Grebe.
The action begins early with a referees’ briefing at 07:30, followed by the official opening at 08:00.
Fighters from across South Africa will compete in three modes:
• Points Fighting (PF)
• Kick Light (KL)
• Light Contact (LC)
Divisions range from white to orange belts and green to black belts, providing opportunities for both rising talents and seasoned competitors.
The excitement continues into the evening with the Tatami Fight Night: Rise of the Champion, starting at 18:00. This prestigious event will see top fighters battle for glory, with the winner receiving a special trophy.
With medals, trophies, and reputations on the line, the Battle of the Karoo 2026 is set to deliver unforgettable moments for fighters and spectators alike.
