International 50-over debut for Ottneil Baartman

After missing out on his 50 over (List A) debut for the Proteas in December last year, the 31-year-old Oudtshoorn born and raised Ottneil Baartman, played his maiden 50 over test for the Proteas on Wednesday, October 2nd.

He missed out in December last year after suffering from a sight strain injury against India in Gqeberha.

After representing his country in 10 Twenty20 matches he was included in the Proteas team for the series of three limited over test matches against Ireland in Abu Dhabi in the UAE.

Baartman bagged four wickets in the series which South Africa won 2-1.

Baartman, who is a key player for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 league, also recently represented the Texas Super Kings in the USA Major league.

His first-class career started with Southwestern Districts in 2014/15 season.
