Dust, Rocks and the sound of roaring engines could be heard this past weekend at Louvain Guest Farm.
Louvain is situated approximately 50 km from George on the N9 Langkloof Road, and owned by the Jonker family.

The East Cape Offroad Racing Club presented the JP Spares and Lubricants Louvain 200 Offroad Race.
This race was for purpose build vehicles only, but there was also a fun element where enthusiasts could test their skills in bakkies, motorbikes and even quad bikes.

Weather conditions were perfect, although the terrain was not for the faint-hearted, and demanding the utmost skill from drivers and navigators.

The winning team was father and son Grant and Gregory Watkins, from Gqeberha, Eastern Cape.
Overall Results:

1st Grant and Greg Watkins (Zarco); 2nd Derek and Chester Wilmot (Viper Spaceframe); 3rd Wika Jordaan and Ludwig Jordaan (Sandmaster); 4th Paul van Jaarsveld and Adrian Linderman (Orco).

Round two of the East Cape Offroad Club Championship is scheduled for 21 March in the Despatch area and will be run in conjunction with the opening round of the Algoa Rally Club Championship. (ANGELIQUE ERASMUS)
