THE Cango Wildlife Ranch, the Animal Care team and the State Veterinary Office Oudtshoorn, joined forces to spend their 67 minutes in the community of Volmoed, Oudtshoorn.
The three organisations joined forces and collected donations of dog and cat food, blankets, toys, food and pre-loved clothes and linen. The Cango Wildlife Ranch Turtles Restaurant staff prepared 60 litres of soup and buttered bread, the Cheetah Preservation Foundation contributed treats for the children, our Volunteers and staff all donated and Piet’s Crazy Pet Shop donated R5 000’s worths of dog biscuits.
Pienaar Brothers (PTY) Ltd (Professional Equipment) also donated 100 beanies that were handed out during the outreach to the community.
The Animal Care Team in partnership with Midlands Veterinary Wholesalers donated much needed dog & cat food, which allowed us to pack and distribute over 250 packets of food for the animals in need in the Volmoed Community.
The State Veterinary Office Oudts-hoorn with the Compulsory Community Service Vet assisted with basic health care checks and treatments and along with the Animal Care Team started a list for their return to sterilise a good number of dogs and cats in this community.
“As a collective we understand the great need in so many of our Communities in Oudtshoorn and although we could only make a difference in one selected Community, we believe that it is in our hands to make a difference, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem” says Vanessa Engelbrecht, a Manager at the Cango Wildlife Ranch and an orga-niser of the outreach.
