Runners can look forward to a brand-new trail run. The Black Mountain Ultra will be launched on 25 April 2026.
Runners will be able to enjoy breathtaking views and beautiful nature in the Swartberg Mountains. This ultra features three UTMB Index and ITRA-accredited distances, which are 73 km, 43 km and 19 km.
There will also be a 6 km trail event for beginners or can be enjoyed by family and friends who want to be part of the event.
Starting from the Retreat at Groenfontein and serving as central race village, with shuttle and bag transport options available to runners, reducing race day stress.
Black Mountain Ultra is delivered in collaboration with Cape Nature, The Donkey Trail and Traverse The Earth, ensuring conservation-led access to rarely run trails, including sections of historic routes not normally open to runners.
