EACH of the 13 wards in the Greater Oudtshoorn on Tuesday (25 May) received one of 15 tablets donated by the European Union (EU) in conjunction with the South African Local Government Association (Salga) to assist the municipality to improve engagement with communities and organisations.
According to Salga’s director of operations, Khalil Mullagie, Salga aims to enhance service delivery in local government.
The mayor, Chris Macpherson, said it was important that the tablets arrived during the vaccination period of the pandemic.
“The tablets will be utilized during the pandemic. The municipality needs to ensure that the tablets have data and can be used to assist community members to re- gister for vaccination.”
