THE Western Cape premier, Alan Winde, this week again requested residents of the Western Cape and visitors to the province to follow the following Covid-19 safety measures:
• Wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth whenever in public and meeting other people outside of your household.
• Avoid non-essential gatherings, especially where there is poor ventilation.
• If you are gathering with friends, keep it short, small, spacious and outside.
• Drink alcohol responsibly.
• Avoid the 3C’s: Crowded places, confined spaces and close contact (less than 1,5 metres).
• Wash or sanitise your hands regularly.
• If you are travelling in public transport, keep your mask on for the entire journey and ensure the windows are open too.
• If you feel even a bit sick, avoid all other people, especially those at risk. If you have Covid-19 symptoms, arrange a test, but continue to isolate until you have your result.
• If you test positive, you must stay in isolation for the entire 10 days. Please do not go out into public places and put others at risk of severe infection and death.
