Chris Macpherson, the Executive Mayor of Greater Oudtshoorn, extends heartfelt appreciation to Gift of the Givers for their generous distribution of essential supplies to families in need across Oudtshoorn, De Rust, and Dysselsdorp.

On Thursday, 11 April 2024, the Gift of the Givers Foundation embarked on a mission to provide support to families in Greater Oudtshoorn who were affected by the heavy rains a few weeks back. Beginning at Navada Hall in Bongolethu, they then proceeded to Toekomsrus Community Hall, subsequently visiting Dysselsdorp, De Rust, Calitzdorp, and Ladismith, ensuring that aid reached those in the most vulnerable circumstances.

The distributed essentials encompassed toiletries, blankets, and food packs, addressing immediate needs within the community.

Expressing his gratitude, Alderman Macpherson remarked, “We acknowledge the magnitude of your efforts and deeply value every contribution made toward the welfare of our communities.”
Recognizing the pressing need for assistance following heavy rains that struck the area two weeks prior, the Gift of the Givers Foundation proactively reached out to the Human Settlement department to explore avenues for support to residents of Greater Oudtshoorn affected by the rains.

The Gift of the Givers Foundation’s core belief, that “The best among people are those who benefit mankind,” underpins their commitment to those in need.
