Arrested for dealing in Tik of R35 000

AN INNOVATIVE drug pedlar from Elsies River was arrested last Wednesday en route to Ladismith when 100 grams of Tik was found concealed in his rectum.

The estimated value of the Tik is R35 000.

According to Lt Col Malcolm Pojie, police spokesperson, the man’s plan to hide the Tik did not work out well as the Ladismith Police acted on information received from the community.

“They pulled over the taxi in which the man travelled approximately twelve kilometres outside Ladismith and executed a search which led to the finding of the Tik. He appeared in the Ladismith Magistrates’ Court on Friday for dealing in drugs.”

The man remained in custody over the weekend and will appear in court once charged. (Deur Deon Meyer)
