Tourism Ambassador Course
RESIDENTS of the Greater Oudtshoorn whose jobs bring them into contact with tourists – employees like petrol station attendants, restaurant staff, shop assistants, spa therapists, hotel, B&B and guest house staff, and staff at tourist attractions – can now become “tourists ambassadors” for their town.
Business owners are encouraged to give staff members the opportunity to attend this course free of charge as it is funded by the AHI.
The course will be presented by the Francois Ferreira Academy, following the success of a recent Tourism Ambassador Course in Plettenberg Bay.
Attendees should be able to speak, read and write English, the common language of tourists. The course will be run at the CJ Langenhoven Library from 2 to 5 October from 08:00 to 16:00, and interviews will take place on Friday 28 September at 09:00 at the Oudtshoorn Tourism Offices.
The course is designed to give information to tourists about attractions, places to stay and eat in Oudtshoorn and also general information on the Garden Route as a whole.
There is also an element of customer service in the course, and the successful trainees will receive a certificate from Services Seta, and a badge that will announce to tourists that the person wearing the badge is an ambassador for Oudtshoorn.
